One of the most powerful things about being a Southern Baptist church is that our obedience here in Maricopa fuels gospel mission everywhere. Through the Cooperative Program, Grace Maricopa stands shoulder‑to‑shoulder with thousands of churches to support missionaries, church planters, compassion ministries, and disaster relief across North America and around the world.
And right now, that partnership is making a real, urgent impact.
IMB & SEND Relief: Responding to the Venezuela Earthquakes
In late June, two massive earthquakes struck Venezuela—7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude—flattening buildings, killing thousands, and leaving entire communities homeless. Southern Baptists responded within 24 hours through Send Relief, the compassion ministry jointly operated by the IMB and NAMB.
IMB President Paul Chitwood described the devastation as “an indescribable scene… a response to this terrible devastation is demanded of us to bring compassion and help.”
Because Southern Baptists have invested faithfully for decades, Send Relief was already working alongside Venezuelan Baptist churches—more than 700 congregations strong. That long partnership made rapid response possible: clean water, meals, emergency shelters, and most importantly, the hope of the gospel.
This is not abstract. This is not distant. Grace Maricopa is part of this response.
Every dollar we give through the Cooperative Program helps support IMB missionaries, Send Relief teams, and the global network that allows Southern Baptists to step into moments of crisis with compassion and gospel clarity.
SEND Network: Church Planting That Changes Cities
While the IMB responds globally, the SEND Network—the church‑planting arm of the North American Mission Board—continues to strengthen and multiply churches across North America.
In July, Send Relief volunteers served in Montreal through a week‑long Serve Tour, meeting needs, sharing Christ, and supporting local church planters.
SEND Network is planting churches “everywhere for everyone,” and Cooperative Program giving ensures those planters are trained, supported, and sustained as they bring the gospel into some of the most spiritually difficult cities on our continent.
Again—Grace Maricopa is part of this. Our giving fuels church planting, evangelism, compassion ministry, and gospel advance from Phoenix to Montreal to Caracas.
